Ah, spring. The flowers are beginning to bloom, the birds are chirping, and it’s (probably) done snowing.

But as new life returns to the Bismarck area and the days grow longer, spending time outdoors also becomes more common.

And more fun.
So if you’re in our neck of the woods in North Dakota, here are some ways you can get out there and see all of what Bismarck has to offer.

Go for a Bike Ride

Of all the great ways to explore the outdoors, bike riding is easily one of the best. You can bike at a pace that suits you best, and cover as much or as little ground as you’d like.

Between trails in town and bike paths in local parks, there’s a wide variety of routes and scenery to choose from.

The highlight for bike trails in Bismarck can be found in the scenic paved trails on both sides of the Missouri river, with a simple route and a gorgeous view.

So what are you waiting for? Get pedaling!

Go Fishing

There’s nothing quite like throwing a line in the water and relaxing by the shore. And in Bismarck, there are so many great places to go fishing.

Between the mighty Missouri River and the fantastic guide services available in town, you’ll be sure to land a great catch.

Although North Dakota is known for its walleye, you also may find northern pike, bass, perch and even catfish.

Regardless of what you’re hoping to catch, it’s always a good time on the water.

Search for Wildlife

Contrary to popular belief, North Dakota isn’t just flat farmland. Among these rivers and grasslands are ecosystems buzzing with life, you just have to take the time to look.

From Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park, to McDowell Dam Nature Park, to the Dakota Zoo, there are hundreds of acres to be explored.

Keep the camera handy. You may spot anything from deer and waterfowl to bison and prairie dogs throughout the parks.

Enjoy a Hike

In addition to the chance of seeing wildlife, there are some fantastic hiking trails to be explored in the locations listed above.

Take a walk along the boardwalks or paved trails found in one of the many local state parks. Whether you plan just a day trip of overnight visit, there’s plenty of hiking to discover!

Find a Camping Spot

By the river. By a lake. In the woods. In town. Close to town. Wherever you choose, Burleigh County has no shortage of camping spots and electrical hook-ups.

Whether you’re a traditional tent camper or a radical RV’er, you’re sure to find a spot you love. The Bismarck KOA is a fantastic spot for families, while local parks also offer tons of overnight camping opportunities.

Whatever outdoor activities you like to enjoy, we hope you can get outside and explore all that the Bismarck area has to offer.

Between fishing, camping, and hiking, we believe there’s truly something for everyone to love. And hey, if you can’t find a camping spot you love, or need

a few more creature comforts, we’re here for you. You’re welcome at EverSpring any time.

So what are you waiting for? It’s time to get out there!
