Contrary to popular belief, North Dakota isn’t just flat farmland. Among these rivers and grasslands are ecosystems buzzing with life, you just have to take the time to look.
From Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park to McDowell Dam Nature Park, to the Dakota Zoo, there are hundreds of acres to be explored. Keep the camera handy, you may spot anything from deer and waterfowl to bison and prairie dogs throughout the parks.
- Enjoy a Hike
In addition to the chance of seeing wildlife, there are some fantastic hiking trails to be explored in the locations listed above. Take a walk along the boardwalks or paved trails found in one of the many local state parks. Whether you plan just a day trip or overnight visit, there’s plenty of hiking to discover.
