Welcome to the charming town of Marshall, Minnesota, a gem of Southwest Minnesota and perfect for solo travelers and families alike. Nature lovers, foodies, history enthusiasts, work travelers, or those looking for a quick weekend getaway, Marshall has you covered.
We’ll break down our favorite stops for food, leisure, and fun in and around Marshall.
We recommend you start your day at one of two Marshall staples: Main Stay Café for fresh baked goods and sandwiches or Bagels and Brew for your dose of, well bagels and coffee. Both of these spots offer something special to kickstart your morning. If you’re in a pinch, both Starbucks and Caribou are available in town as well.
For lunch, Marshall has a variety of offerings. From sit down restaurants, fast food, and grab and go. Check out Chicken Connection for the best broasted chicken, Mariachi Fiesta for Mexican, or The Gym of Marshall for a little bit of everything. The Gym also features AJ’s Family Arcade, home to an indoor arcade, a mini golf course, and go-kart track to bring out your competitive side.
After lunch, stretch your legs at the various sites around Marshall. Camden State Park has just about everything for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts. From fishing, hiking, wildlife watching, geocaching, swimming, stargazing, and more.
During the months of July through October, visit the Marshall Farmers Market for freshly grown produce, canned goods, breads, and live performances. Find them on Saturdays at 7:30 a.m. through Noon in the parking lot between the YMCA and Schwan’s. Then shop until you drop in downtown Marshall, where you’ll find some amazing hidden treasures, food, boutiques, and unique gift shops.
For dinner, stop at our favorite restaurant in town: Tavern 507. The simple things, done great, burgers, wings, pizza, and more.
Or visit Wings Axe Co. for the best of both worlds, an axe throwing venue combined with a bar and restaurant. Then cap the night off with a stop to Brau Brothers Brewing Co. for locally brewed craft beer. The Brau Bros Taproom can be your one stop shop for food, fun, and drink, with 24 beer taps, food, TVs, golf simulators, pool tables, darts, and more.
